What is Skyward Family Access?
Studies have long shown a direct correlation between parent involvement and student achievement, attendance, and behavior from 4K through graduation. Skyward Family Access is an easy to use web based tool designed to enhance parent/guardian and school communication and provide real time information on many important areas of your child’s education including attendance, schedules, grades, lunch accounts, school fees and more!
Your child’s school sets up access at time of enrollment. If you do not remember how to access your account, please contact your child’s school office.

How do I view my student's grades?
To see your student’s grades from Skyward, first log in and then on the left, click the link titled Gradebook.
- Notifications regarding grades can be customized under the My Account link at the top of the screen.
How do I check attendance for my student?
To see attendance for your student from Skyward, first log in and then on the left click the link titled Attendance. If you have questions about the attendance for your student, please contact their school office.

How do I view my student's schedule?
To see your student’s schedule from Skyward, first log in and then on the left click the link titled Schedule.
How do I check the balance in my student's lunch account?
To see your student's lunch account balance in Skyward, including history of dailly purchases, first log in and then on the left click the link titled Food Service.
- Notifications regarding low balance alerts can be customized under the My Account link at the top of the screen.
How do I check the balance of my child's student fees?
To check the balance of your child's student fees in Skyward, including sports and activities fees, first log in and then on the left click the link titled Fee Management.
How do I make lunch and fee payments online?
Lunch account and fee balances can be viewed in Skyward Family Access. To make lunch account and fee payments, VASD uses e~Funds for Schools. Click here for the link and instructions on how to view and make payments online.

Can I email my child’s teacher through Skyward?
Yes! On the Schedule or Gradebook screens, click on the teacher’s name. You will see their school email address. You can either use that address to email the teacher from your personal email account or you can email the teacher through Skyward. Please note it is recommended that you email the teacher from your personal email account in order to insure that the teacher will see the email in a timely manner.
How do I schedule Parent/Teacher Conferences?
Parent/Teacher Conferences are held every fall and families will be notified when scheduling opens. To schedule parent teacher conference for your child from Skyward, first log in and then on the left click the link titled Conferences. Choose the teacher you would like to meet with (option for middle and high school only) as well as the day and time that works for your schedule. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address on file.
If you have questions about the scheduling parent/teacher conferences for your student, please contact their school office. If you would like to meet with your child’s teacher outside of the conference window, please reach out directly to that teacher.

What do I do if my Family or Emergency information has changed?
Custodial Parents/Guardians can add/delete emergency contacts, family addresses and information, and phone numbers within Family Access. Click on Request Changes for Student name. Be sure to save your changes. Once approved, you will see the changes in Family Access.
Can/should I share my password with my student?
No. Parents and students have different logins and passwords because they have different levels of access. Parent accounts give custodial parents the access to change demographic information and to select and edit Skylert preferences. Your student has his/her own Student Access account which gives them access to all of the same information but without the editing rights to change important information.
What if my email address has changed, or if I need to change my username or password?
Use the My Account button in the top right corner of any screen within the Family Access program to change your login name, password, or email address.
I have forgotten my user name and/or lost my password, what should I do?
Use the “Forgot your Login/Password?” link on the Skyward login screen. Skyward will send your login information to your email address on record. If you do not have an email address recorded in Skyward, you will need to contact your child’s school for instructions.
Who provides translations for the Skyward student information system?
Google provides translations for the Skyward student information system.
