The K-4 and 5th grade General Music programs have been taught by the recently retired Mrs. Lisa M. Brandl for the past 30 years. Her program was based on the teaching philosophy of Zoltan Kodaly. The curriculum gave students the basic tools to do anything in music they may choose by offering a solid background in music literacy, along with singing, playing instruments, and moving to music. Mrs. Brandl strongly believed in culturing a love of music at an early age so students will continue to build upon their skills through middle school, high school, and beyond.

Ms. Emily Jams took over as the K-4 and 5th grade General Music program teacher in 2021-22, and we are excited for her to share her style with VASD!
