High School Clubs & Activities
Bowling Team is open to all VHS students. A team of 5 (with substitutes) bowls together "Baker style" against other area high school teams. The season runs October to January with weekly practice and meets happening on Saturday afternoons at area bowling alleys.

The Color Guard uses flags, poms and other gear to enhance the music of the Marching Band on the football field for half times shows, or marching in street parades.

Helping support our athletic teams, the VHS Dance Team performs a variety of routines during winter athletic events with the purpose of entertaining crowds and inspiring fan enthusiasm.

eSports, which is short for electronic sports, is an organized form of multiplayer video game competitions. eSports is recognized at both the High School and Collegiate level. At the High School level, students participate in weekly tournaments with over 150 schools in the Wisconsin High School eSports Association.

FBLA helps high school students prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs.

FCCLA promotes personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation. The club meets the first Thursday of each month during Viking Time.

FFA is the premier youth organization preparing members for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture.

FIRST Robotics Competition challenges teams of young people and their mentors build robots using a standard “kit of parts” and a common set of rules. Teams are rewarded for excellence in design, demonstrated team spirit, gracious professionalism and the ability to overcome obstacles.
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Fishing Association is committed to the education, conservation, and management of our natural resources. Primary goals of the club are to get students involved in the outdoors and to become future ambassadors of our sport through the foundation of spirited competition.

Getting the crowd ready to support our teams, the Pep Band plays at athletic events with the purpose of entertaining and creating enthusiasm in a crowd. Marching Band performs a field show at the home football games.

Menagerie is a literary magazine that celebrates the creative writing of high school students in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference. Selected entries are published in a combined conference magazine and professionally produced. It provides an opportunity for students to express themselves through writing outside of the classroom expectations as well as share their work with other students, including a conference banquet were two representatives from each school present their work.

The National Honor Society (NHS) elevates our school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Students who meet the scholarship criteria are invited to apply for membership. Students who accept membership and are inducted into the chapter participate in chapter and individual service projects to benefit the school and community.

Peer Leaders are students committed to ease the transition from middle to high school and to serve as positive role models for younger students. The mission Peer Leadership Program is providing support and assistance in the removal of barriers to students' academic achievement through mentoring, tutoring, conflict mediation, and leadership activities.

Solar Olympics is an annual, one-day renewable energy competition for participating SolarWise® schools, held at one of the University of Wisconsin campuses in Northeast Wisconsin. Throughout the day, students participate in a variety of challenges. Solar Olympics gives students the opportunity to learn about solar energy by direct, hands-on experience, and gain experience in project management and teamwork. The annual event is held each May and preparation begins in March.

Through the Solo & Ensemble experience, students learn the discipline of rehearsal, are challenged to advance their musical skills, perform in front of an audience and adjudicator, and receive feedback on their performance. Those that perform at the highest level (Class A) at a WSMA District Festival have the opportunity to receive a 1* (one-star) rating which advances them on to State Solo & Ensemble Festival.

Sources of Strength Peer Leaders are a diverse group of individuals who leverage their personal and collective leadership qualities to improve school culture. Their social influence leads the charge in forming strengths through change campaigns using strength-based messages to impact multiple issues.

Student Council is an organization to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community.

The technical crew, known as "tech crew” are the students working behind the scenes in all of the various performances among the schools. Members are trained to control all the technical aspects of lighting and sound for concerts, plays, musicals, or other live performances.

The VHS Drama Department engages students to create challenging, entertaining and successful theatrical productions. The intent is to attract students with a passion for the performing arts and to foster that passion. Participation in the Drama Program is open to all students through the audition process or if otherwise announced.
